Dustdevils Ready To Face Javelinas

Victoria Beltrán contributed a 2-0 pitching record and seven hits to lead TAMIU to a 3-1 series win over Panhandle State this weekend.

March 17, 2008

Texas A&M International University will take a break from Heartland Conference action to host South Texas rival Texas A&M-Kingsville in doubleheader action on Tuesday afternoon. First pitch between the Dustdevils and Javelinas is scheduled for 3 p.m at Gateway Field.

TAMIU (11-15 overall) is off to a blazing 7-1 start in Heartland Conference play. The Dustdevils swept Newman in a four game series two weekends ago before claiming a 3-1 series win over Panhandle State last weekend. Both series were played on the home field.

Texas A&M-Kingsville takes a 12-16 record into today's doubleheader against Newman. The Javelinas swept the Dustdevils in a doubleheader on Feb. 6 in Kingsville, winning 5-3 and 6-1.

Gateway Field is located near the intersection of Hillside Road and Daugherty at the City of Laredo Base Recreation Complex. Admission for Dustdevil softball is $5 for adults, $3 for students (K-12) with no admission charged for anyone with a TAMIU ID.
