Player Profile

Lee Dobbins was introduced as the first head softball coach at Texas A&M International University last September. The Tennessee native brings a wealth of experience to the challenging of building a competitive NCAA Division II program.

Most recently, Dobbins served as director of softball operations at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga last season. UT-Chattanooga is a NCAA Division I member and was the 2007 Southern Conference champions.

Dobbins gained experience as head coach at NCAA Division II Lander University in 2006. He guided the Bearcats to a 27-28-1 overall record. After wrapping up the college season at Lander, Dobbins served as head coach of Team USA's Athletes International College All-Star Team that traveled to Germany, Austria and Switzerland to compete.

In addition to coaching, Dobbins also has recent experience as the executive director of the Ace Softball Inc. College Softball Fun-In-The-Sun Classic. That Bradenton, Fla. tournament draws college teams from all NCAA Divisions throughout the country.

Prior to taking the reigns as a head coach, Dobbins gained experience as an assistant coach at UT-Chattanooga and Tusculum College. He broke into the college ranks as student assistant coach at the University of Tennessee and at Chattanooga State Technical Community College.

Dobbins has international experience as a consultant to the 2004 Spanish Olympic National Team. He has served as camp instructor and camp director at several high level college camps throughout the southeast the several years.

Dobbins is an active member of the National Fast Pitch Coaches Association. He serves on many committees for that organization; including camps and clinics, education and publications and bylaws and resolutions.

A native of Chattanooga, Dobbins holds a bachelor's in communications from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.
