Final Stats

St. Edward's defeated Texas A&M International University 67-60 on Saturday night in Austin.

St. Edward's (19-5) led 33-28 at the half. The teams would battle evenly before the Hilltoppers made a late push. TAMIU led 47-45 at the 6:37 mark of the second half before St. Edward's went on a 14-1 run to take control with a 59-48 lead at the 1:58 mark.

St. Edward's sealed the win by making eight of 10 free throws in the final minute.

Derek Barnes led TAMIU (8-15) with 14 points and four assists. Igancio García finished with 13 points and eight rebounds and Jerante Morgan contributed 11 points.

TAMIU will return to action on Monday with a road game at St. Mary's. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
