Texas A&M International University's cross country teams will compete in the Heartland Conference Championships this Saturday in San Antonio. The field of eight women's and six men's teams will compete at the San Antonio State School. TAMIU's men have finished in fifth place in the team standings in their last two races. Sophomore Gedyon Kiflezgi has led the way for the Dustdevils with two consecutive top-10 finishes. He took first place honors at last weekend's Texas Lutheran Invitational with a 27:04 8K effort, becoming the first TAMIU men's runner to earn top individual honors in the five-year history of the program. The Dustdevil women have shown steady improvement throughout the season, with all five runners posting career personal record times within the last two races. Sophomore Jenny Méndez has been TAMIU's top finisher in all five races this season. |
