Associate Athletics Director

Dan Lathey was hired as Texas A&M International University's first associate athletics director in January 2002. Among his primary duties are serving as TAMIU's sports information director, game management supervisor and Maroon Club manager.

Before arriving at TAMIU, Lathey served as media relations director for the NCAA Division III American Southwest Conference for two and a half years. Prior to his stint with the ASC, Lathey gained nine years of sports information experience at Texas A&M-Commerce, Texas State-San Marcos, Cal State Northridge and the United States Air Force Academy.

Lathey is a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America. He is involved in several community service projects at TAMIU, including serving as an advisory board member for the Salvation Army of Laredo and a volunteer for the Special Olympics of Laredo.

Lathey has earned a bachelor's in radio/tv/film from Oklahoma State University and a master's in journalism from Texas A&M-Commerce. Prior to attending OSU he spent four years in the United States Air Force.
