Texas A&M International University offers all the courses that a student needs to be eligible for the Texas Athletic Training Licensure Examination. The courses are offered through the College of Education's fitness and sports program.
The courses include: Exercise Physiology, Athletic Training/First Aid/CPR, Biomechanics, Health and Wellness, Athletic Training, Advanced Athletic Training, and Therapeutic Modalities.
In addition to classes, students must accumulate 1800 hours of athletic experience working with the TAMIU teams to be eligible to sit for the Licensure Exam. Athletic training students will help cover practices, games, and treatment hours under the supervision of the TAMIU Athletic training staff. There may also be opportunities to work with the Laredo Broncos baseball club and the Laredo Heat soccer club.
